Red Oak, IA – After running a new ad highlighting Theresa Greenfield’s hypocrisy and dishonesty over taking a half a million dollars from corporate lobbyists, executives and CEOs, new public record filings reveal that the number was an error.
A look at Greenfield’s latest FEC report shows that she took another $200,000 from corporate lobbyists, executives and CEOs – bringing the total amount this cycle to more than $700,000.
“When you are wrong, it’s important to admit it. Theresa Greenfield didn’t take $500,000 from corporate lobbyists, executives and CEOs; it was $700,000. We are terribly sorry for the mistake and regret the error. Team Joni will work to ensure Iowans know that despite her rhetoric not to take ‘one dime’ of special interest money, Greenfield has hypocritically taken $700,000 from corporate lobbyists, executives and CEOs,” said Team Joni spokesperson Melissa Deatsch.
Last week, Team Joni released a new television ad exposing Greenfield’s hypocrisy on special interest money and calling into question what else she’s lying about.
